A home architect should have a degree from a professional and reputed architectural school, and should have accreditation from professional organizations in that field. Your luxury home architect should have experience designing the kind of home that you desire. If you're looking for an alternative home like a stone house or an eco friendly home that's made of organic building materials, look for a contractor who has extensive experience in such areas of design. Not only are these architects more experienced in the kinds of specialty design you're looking for, they are familiar with sources for the special materials and products needs for a house like this. Having a luxury home architect who knows what he's doing working on your project, will make the actual task of building your home a lot easier and stress free.
The home architect that you're considering should function in a professional set up. The architect's job doesn't really end at designing a plan for you. He needs to be available along the building process, and he may need to provide his input regarding structural and architectural specifications. The luxury home architect firm should have a dedicated service staff that will help along the construction process. The firm should consist of more than one person operating out of a single room office. A full fledged support staff or assistant architects, and service personally ensure that your needs will be met even after the design plan has been delivered.

We bought a one acre lot. We want to build a 8500-10,000 sq ft home. 4 Car attached garage. With a separate 3500 sq foot workshop/garage. Approximately what will it cost? We are not looking at the cheapest or the most expensive upgrades and expenses, just moderate. We have found floor plans we like that meet what we're looking for. They came from a book called ultimateplans.com. Plan # 161104. It has a main floor level, upper level floor plan and a basement level floor plan.
